Forbidden fruits

The best pineapple I have ever tasted

As promised additional posts about our recent trip to Kauai.  My husband and I went on this last minute trip over Easter holiday.  The first day there we went to one of the local farmers' market in Hanalei Bay.  We didn't know what to expect, but were amazed at the quality of products once we arrived.  I have never tasted pineapple like this period;  refreshingly sweet, juicy and satisfying.  The greens tasted earthy and fresh, again not even in California can we get produce like this.  We bought some honey that was quite dark, the reason being the bees were feeding off coffee flowers.  We also drank from a coconut cut open in front of us.

Booth where we purchased honey

Really, really big kind of zucchini

Tiny bananas

I really don't know what this is...but they looked good....maybe papaya?

Beautiful fennel....I love to eat this thinly sliced with olive oil, salt and lemon....will post about this later!

Back of truck that held fresh coconuts....

This was our coconut that we drank from....too much for just two people

Me, sweaty at 10:00am and trying to help my husband consume the coconut juice
